Buy empty lots or small buildings and demolish them. Built a residential or commercial building with the options to sell multiple apartments rent them or use them for your businesses. You could built by either using new materials that you need to purchase from imports/exports or by paying a lumpsum amount as for the empty lot. You could have project managers, electricians, plumbers, architects, builders etc. and depending on their skill to reduce the time of construction. If this feature is implemented, you could make your own building designs in the future, assign different attributes to each floor i.e. residential or commercial, use your legal team for different events etc.

A construction company would be super cool especially in New York. A lot of employees to manage and a lot of room for growth in terms of small projects to massive projects. A lot of room for gameplay in terms of scheduling and even adding subcontractors you can hire to do specific things like painting for example. Or the option to just perform work on your own. Also being able to bid on jobs around the city would be awesome. I was surprised this is not already in the game.

I know nothing about programming but I suspect that a venture like this would require a massive rewrite of much of the map and its functions.

Not necessarily a bad thing to be giving the developers some real long term goals? One of the reasons I’m quite invested in this game is to sit back and watch how far the devs are willing to push this sandbox.

I think having a construction firm is a good idea as it also opens up other business types as well, Concrete manufacturing, flooring businesses, glass manufacturing, metal manufacturing etc., and then having a fleet of concrete and cargo trucks.

Use these vehicles to collect the resources from said businesses and take them back to the work site where the new construction will commence, Hire drivers to do the driving, as the player tell them where to go and how much to collect, the game debits your account, The game will let the player know how much of the resources is required and once required resources have been collected the game will build the building

the building size is dependent on the lot it’s on if have purchased say 4 lots in a group combine the lots to be one big one or after a while demolish the building and return them back to singular lots, which you can create a massive mall for example and a car park, that said to keep within the specs of buildings devs have already placed in the game, you should be able to customize the height and width of your building, but each floor will be of the same height, be able to have one empty store for yourself free of charge and rent-free, also have various amounts of store spaces to rent to AI businesses

Players can begin by ordering materials from manufacturing businesses which costs them money of cause or if they have enough capital buy out those manufacturing businesses

Glass manufacturing business $3.5 million

I’m pretty sure the devs would be able to implement an AI deconstruction-construction system similar to a sim city or city skyline, the manufacturing business behaviour would be much like the wholesalers you buy from, you or your driver turns up to manufacturing business, you select how much you want or how much your driver gets either at the business or in biz app, then either you or your driver take what you have purchased and dump it at the construction site, the construction site then shows the number of each resource that is required going up until right amount has been achieved.

then it comes to employees, the bigger the project the more employees you need and various kinds so say 50 construction workers, 50 concrete layers, 30-floor layers and 20 glass fitters

that all said and done once completed it should pay dividends and then some, should be little bit challenging because if it is as quick as the snap of the fingers it get really boring, the game mechanics should limit how many large, medium and small buildings the player can build or give players like 6 various lot sizes so the new data created in the game does not overwhelm hardware of person computer because not everyone has intel 10700 i7 + RTX 4070 and stack load of ram

renting of other storefronts within the one building should also fix the player’s issue of compensating for the taxes, labour, maintenance and security, there should be a limit also on how many storefronts are in one building as more complex coding could put more strain on the game system, so large has 5 storefronts, the medium has 2 and small has 1.

maximum height should be similar to buildings already established in-game, multi-tiered buildings could have either elevators and or escalators preset by the game AI and the dimensions of what the player sets

You wouldn’t see any activity going on other than stats the AI generates as a result of the input by the player which is done in the background of the game and finally the finished product
