As the title says, EA 0.9 restricts deliveries from wholesalers and importers to once a week Monday at 8am. It is pretty difficult to calculate how much product will be needed in a week without having any data whatsoever on how the store is performing when first opening a new store. It also creates the tedious situation of having to manually stock a store at the beginning of the game by taking multiple trips to a wholesaler, and restricts opening new stores to Mondays after 8am unless the player is willing to manually stock the store themselves. It also forces a specific playstyle (hoard) rather than letting players come up with their own stocking strategies.
I always do daily deliveries .. I also play with an import warehouse that goes to other delivery warehouses .. in that model it takes 2 weeks to get situated. Basically I find the game not at all fun with hard caps on 1 week for manual deliveries and imports. So much so that I am seriously tempted to rage quit at this point.
I was set to play this game all weekend, but I just do not find it fun. At all.
I actually have the same strategy, and now I’ve found myself hoarding big time because of the once a week deliveries.
Just so you know - warehouse-to-warehouse deliveries are still daily, so that does not add another week.
The whole thing still makes this distribution strategy difficult since the amount of hoarding required to stockpile for multiple business for an entire week now makes having just one or two central warehouses a challenge. This warehouse distribution strategy is still viable with the limitation, just with more central warehouses.
I made an account just to vote for this. Yes, please! I have been struggling with this change too.
I don’t mind imports taking a week (Shipping from China etc… takes time), but wholesalers should still be able to deliver daily. Needing a few days to set up the new deal/plan is fine (order on monday and first delivery 3 days later). With wholesalers we should be able to pick what days we want deliveries each week when we sett up the plan and there being added a cost to each delivery-day added.
You could also add all items to import, but make importing the luxury items (factory only now) so expensive that you make only a small profit on those items until you start producing your own. This way you can have an electronic store set up in early game if you want to and make it more and more profitable when you get your own factory-production up and running in mid/late game.
