Birthdays need more emphasis, I didn’t even notice my character’s first birthday. 
I suggest a confetti explosion on the screen when you wake up on your birthday or at midnight if you’re awake. 
Uncle Fred should give you a gift, these could be money in the early game and maybe exclusive decorative items as you get older. 
Happiness should also get a boost for the whole day.
