Windows 10 Crashed - Corrupted Saves

Good afternoon BA community :slight_smile: ,

Unfortunately, my Windows 10 (64 bits) crashed & all my saves are now corrupted.

There is a similar topic existing where the member did narrow it down to “recover2.hsg”. It appeared to work for him, unfortunately not for me.

My question is :
As I do have all the saves in the local files, how can I do to get my clean save back ? it’s a bit disappointing as I spent so much time on my diverse businesses, just wanted to ask the community before eventually starting again from scratch.

That’s very unfortunate that it crashed! This doesn’t fix the files, but make sure you have downloaded the newest version of the game - the previous version had a memory leak that caused frequent crashes!

You could try to move most of the save-game files to another location (so you don’t lose them), and then only keep the most recent one in the save-game location to see if it is perhaps one file that’s corrupting everything.

Also - not sure if you tried this already, but when you try to load the saved-game, you could try to hit that radio dial for “recovery saves” and see if the most recent recover save will load (they appear underneath that session’s “normal” saves).

Yes, correct - those are the saved game files. Hopefully there’s still a working one in there that you can reload so you don’t lose everything! :crossed_fingers:

This doesn’t help the lost saved games situation, but a memory leak issue that was causing frequent crashing has been fixed, so if you were still using an older version of the game, that might have been the issue. If you download the current build (1478), that issue has been resolved.

The devs do visit the forums, but maybe not as much on the weekend. Just yell “Dev team, Dev team, Dev team” and click your heels, and they should appear within a couple days.

The folder is located at 'C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Hovgaard Games\Big Ambitions' for Windows, you can .zip the ‘SaveGames’ folder and attach it to the email
